BENEFITS OF VEDIC MEDITATION
Deep relaxation and stress reduction
Vedic meditation promotes a deep state of rest that helps reduce stress and anxiety by calming the mind and body. It allows the nervous system to reset, releasing built-up tension, which leads to a greater sense of calm and balance in daily life.
Enhanced clarity and focus
By regularly practicing Vedic meditation, the mind becomes more still and clear. This helps improve focus, decision-making, and creativity, allowing for more effective problem-solving and heightened awareness in all areas of life.
THE ROLE OF MANTRA IN
VEDIC MEDITATION
UNIQUE MANTRA
As practitioners silently repeat the mantra during meditation, it gently guides their awareness inward, beyond the surface level of thoughts. This inward journey helps them access a state of profound calm and expanded consciousness, promoting deep relaxation, reducing stress, and enhancing mental clarity.
A Gateway to Stillness
In Vedic meditation, the mantra plays a central role as a tool to quiet the mind and facilitate deep rest. A mantra is a specific sound or vibration, chosen individually by a qualified teacher. Unlike ordinary words, the mantra has no meaning, allowing the mind to transcend thought without becoming attached to ideas or emotions.
THE PROCESS OF LEARNING
VEDIC MEDITATION
PERSONALIZED GUIDANCE
Vedic meditation is traditionally taught one-on-one by a certified teacher who guides the student through the process. The teacher provides an individualized mantra, which is a key aspect of the practice. The mantra is chosen specifically for the student to help quiet the mind and enter a deep state of meditation.

Bio
Alec was initiated into Vedic Meditation in 2013 while studying geology at Northern Arizona University. Before learning, he struggled with focus and concentration, feeling the classic restlessness of an ADHD young adult, But meditation changed everything, his energy stabilized, his mind became clearer, and school transformed from a challenge into something he could genuinely enjoy.
Inspired by the profound shifts he experienced, Alec befriended Maharishi Vyasand and soon began training to become a Vedic Meditation teacher himself. In 2016, he traveled to India for an immersive three-month retreat under the guidance of Swami Kailashananda. There, he deepened his practice, learned the traditional puja ceremony, and prepared to share this ancient wisdom with others.
Over the next four years, Alec spent much of his time in India, exploring sacred sites, studying Indian classical music, and immersing himself in the devotional practice of Kirtan. Some of his greatest lessons came not from books, but from simply sitting with Ma Ganga; watching, listening, and absorbing the presence of the river’s timeless wisdom.
In 2020, Alec found his way to Salt Lake City, where he met Fallon, the love of his life. Their son, Kailash, was born October 2022, in the most natural and intimate way—just the three of them, without medical assistance, welcoming new life in the quiet sanctity of their home.
In late 2024, the family relocated to Flagstaff, Arizona, where they are currently based. Alec continues to share the simple yet powerful practice of Vedic Meditation, alongside his love for Kirtan, inspiring others to connect with this ancient body of knowledge in a way that is both accessible and deeply transformative.
